REACT Waste Management has 2 landfills and 17 Transfer Stations to handle the waste within the region. We do not accept tires, hazardous waste such as antifreeze, chemical jugs, paints, solvents, cleaners, pesticide containers, etc.

Humboldt Landfill (5 kms south of Humboldt on Hwy 20)
(Apr 1 – Oct 31) Monday – Friday - 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (closed over noon)
(Nov. 1 –Mar 31) Monday – Friday - 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (closed over noon)
Saturdays - 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (summer and winter) (open through noon)

Hoodoo Landfill (4kms east of Cudworth and 5 kms north)
Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday - 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

You may take your used oil and filters free of charge to the following Oil Collection Sites: Humboldt and Cudworth Landfills, and the following transfer stations: Watrous, Watson, Naicam, Bruno, LeRoy, Quill Lake, St. Brieux, Lanigan, Colonsay, Young and Middle Lake.

*All REACT Landfills/Transfer Stations are governed by Saskatchewan Environment Regulations. ALL LOADS OF WASTE TO LANDFILLS/TRANSFER STATIONS MUST BE SECURED OR TARPED. Please help to keep your landfill/transfer station clean by placing waste in appropriate areas.

    • Please empty compost bags and place in designated waste bin.
    • Please do not dump garbage in the metal, wood, or compost piles. Household waste is prohibited in these areas according to Saskatchewan Environment Regulations
    • Please place light weight materials such as styro-foam and plastic in bags to control wind blown litter.



Regular Waste Fees

    *bagged garbage                        1/2 of a tag or $1.00
    *1/2 ton full of garbage                $20.00
    *1/2 ton – extra large load           $25.00
    *1 ton deck full of garbage           $40.00
    *3 ton full of garbage                    $60.00
    • Steel appliances - stoves, washer, dryers - $10.00 ea, small pieces like bikes, BBQ’s - $1 - $2
    • Deep freezer or fridges – $15.00 each
    • Sofa sets (matching chair included) or hide a bed sofas -$10.00
    • Mattress or box springs $5.00 dollars each
    • Burning barrel ashes must be cold and can not be put in the garbage pit due to fire hazard. The gate attendant will direct you where to place.
    • Trees/clean lumber there is no charge if put on the burn pile
    • Tires – we do not take them at any of our sites - Take to local dealer or call the Scrap Tire Association in Regina at 721-8473
    • Paint cans – Please take to Sarcan for recycling at no charge
    • Computers (laptops, monitors, desktop printers) TV’s can be also taken to Sarcan at no charge
    • Heavier metal (1/2 ton )- $20.00; light metal/tin (1/2 ton) - $15.00
    • Propane tanks -- $5.00
    • Vehicle Batteries – No Charge
    • Recyclable batteries can be dropped off at the landfill or REACT Office at no charge
    • Contaminated soils and building demolitions are only accepted at the two landfills. Contact the REACT Office for pricing and to arrange for drop-off.

For the Farmers:

    • We accept rolled and tied grain bags and twine at the Humboldt and Cudworth Landfills for recycling. We cannot accept loose grain bags because they have to be rolled for shipping.
    • If you have a stockpile of old tires, the Scrap Tire Association will be doing a one time clean-up. Please visit their website http://www.scraptire.sk.ca/ for more information.
    • Used oil on your farm may be picked up free of charge by Envirotec if you have 800 L or more. Please call 244-9500 to schedule a pick-up. You also have the option of taking your used oil free of charge to the REACT Landfill/Transfer Site.


SHINGLE PRICES/ROOFING MATERIAL

For small quantities of shingles the charge is $2.00 per bundle at a REACT transfer station. If taken directly to the Humboldt or Cudworth Landfill the charge will be $1.00 a bundle. SHINGLE PRICES for larger loads: These prices cover off tar & roofing material also:

ASBESTOS REMOVAL

(only at Humboldt landfill & Hoodoo landfill)
Must be cleared with REACT office first. Flat fee of $300.00 plus $15.00 per cubic meter, plus 15% administration fee. We do not accept asbestos at transfer stations.
