*AUTOMATE CURBSIDE CARTS*

Post by reactsask »

Just a reminder to Humboldt and Annaheim residents - proper usage/filling and placement of Automated Curbside Carts ensures that REACT has proper access to service all Automated Curbside Carts efficiently and without incident/damage to the cart.

The following message has been posted to our Facebook page:
Please be reminded that the lids on the carts for automated curbside pickup MUST BE CLOSED. We have had several calls wondering why carts weren't tipped, and if your lid was open, that is why. Effective January 1, 2018, the lids MUST BE CLOSED in order for your cart to be tipped. This has always been the case, but we thought we would give folks a grace period to become familiar with the guidelines. Unfortunately, this has become an increasing and ongoing issue. Please refer to the guidelines that were mailed with your December utility bills or the pamphlet that was delivered with your cart. These guidelines are also listed on the lid of the carts. We thank you for your cooperation.
Overfilled carts?
- Take the extras out on tipping day, and then put them back in once your cart has been tipped.
- Our recycling depot, located on 4th Avenue, is still available for your use.
- You can also take extra waste to the Humboldt Landfill, but this will be at a cost.
- If you find you continually have too much waste/recycling for the carts, please note that we can provide you with an extra cart for recycling/waste or both. The cost would be an additional $7.50/cart on your utility bill.
Please note that these guidelines are in place to prevent damaged carts and litter on the street.
